North Goa: sights and interesting places. Which resort in North Goa should young people choose? Sinkerim - a beach with history

Everyone knows that Goa is not an island? It is one of the smallest states in India. However, this "small" state has given the world 100 km of uninterrupted beaches, which are simply unrealistic to drive around in a few weeks. The whole Goa is divided into 2 parts: South Goa and North Goa. The airport is right in the middle.

Kerim beach

Kerim Beach is the northernmost beach in Goa, located at the mouth of the Terakol River, which must be crossed to enter the neighboring state of Maharashtra. It is similar to Paradise Beach: here, instead of palm trees, coniferous trees grow.

This beach is not very famous among foreign tourists, usually Indians themselves rest here. But since they do not usually swim in the sea and do not sunbathe, the entire coast looks rather deserted. On the beach there are sunbeds with awnings.

Calacha beach

The beach is located right behind the rocks of Arambol on the north side. To get there, you need to go through a busy market on a cliff.

Behind these rocks of Arambol begins Kalaccha Beach

The beach is quite beautiful, although quite small. On both sides it is limited by rocks, nudists love to sunbathe on the rocks on the north side.

They say that earlier the entire Kalach beach belonged to nudists, but over time they were forced out onto the rocks. And on the beach they built a cafe and put sunbeds that are rented to vacationers for 30 rupees.

And the fact that it is from him that you can get to the world famous woman (respected elder),.

The sand here is pleasant, a lot of dry sand: for children, that's it. Not all the beaches of North Goa can boast of having dry sand, but for children (and for some adults) this item is very important: burrowing into hot sand is so nice!

Arambol beach

The most famous party beach in Goa. It is here that the most creative and extraordinary people settle. Arambol is famous for its Drum Circle, which gathers daily at sunset and accompanies the sun with its rhythm.

Next to the drum circle is the famous Arambol beach market. Here everyone can put their creativity on public display and even make money on it.

We ourselves chose Arambol as the place of our three-week stay in Goa, since all the most interesting things happen here. Here we also found a wonderful one, where Vanya studied with a tutor in order to keep up with classmates during the trip.

Arambol has a huge variety of cafes (sheks). The most pleasant thing is to sit in sheks right on the shore and dine with some, watching the sunset.

Sunsets on Arambol

Arambol has the most diverse shopping: everyone knows this. There is a very large market here where you can buy a wide variety, and there are also many shops that sell essential goods, and.

But shopping in Arambol does not end with the market and shops: even on the beach, numerous beach vendors will not let you relax. They sell anything: fruits, coconuts, pareos and torn, bracelets, drums ... But we have to admit that they are quite “cultured”: if you firmly say “no, thank you”, they will no longer torture you (how, like in Vietnam) but simply move on to the next victim.

The beach itself in Arambol is not very good: the beach strip is wide, but there is practically no dry sand. Every day in the morning we observed the high tide, when the sea approached almost the cafes, and at low tide (every evening) the sea goes about 200 meters from these sheks.

Only on Arambol we saw such a large number of starfish: there are millions of them!

And we were lucky to meet flamingos here and were not lucky - a sea snake:

You can choose and book a hotel in Arambol with discounts on the Booking booking site:

Mandrem beach

Arambol beach smoothly turns into Mandrem beach. You won't see any borders. The beginning of Mandrem can be distinguished by the appearance of a small river near the sea. Its width and depth change depending on the tides. Throughout Mandrem there are many bridges along which you can cross the river and get to coastal cafes and hotels.

Families with children love to settle in Mandrem, as there are small and shallow bays along the entire coastal strip of the beach where children can safely splash around.

Mandrem ends with small rocks (one might say, stones), behind which the next beach begins - Ashvem.

Ashvem beach

A sparsely populated and quiet beach in North Goa. There are no huge stones on the beach (which are found on almost all the beaches of North Goa), so sunbathing and swimming on Ashvem is a pleasure. It is suitable for those who are looking for a quiet and secluded holiday.

But it is worth considering that there are few housing and shops here. But there are also practically no annoying beach vendors, which is a huge plus.

Morjim beach

The most Russian beach in all of Goa. Here is the so-called "Russian" village, where our compatriots settle. They say that the locals even call this beach "Moscow Beach": there are so many Russian speakers here.

Prices for housing and goods on the market here are higher than in the same Arambol: again, due to the large concentration of Russians.

The beach itself in Morjim is good: the gradual depth and wide beach strip make it very suitable for families with children. Moreover, there is a Russian kindergarten on the territory of the village of Morjim.

There are a lot of Russian cafes here, which don’t really bother with names: Our Russia, Glavfish, Tchaikovsky. Apparently, they should evoke notes of nostalgia in the Russian soul and attract them with this.

Hotels on Morjim Beach:

Vagator beach

There are two sights of Goa on this beach: Chapora Fort and the face of Shiva on the stones (we wrote about them in).

The beach is divided into two parts: Big Vagator - the nearest beach to Chapora Fort and Small Vagator (Little Vagator or Ozran beach) - this is where the face of Shiva is located.

Vagator and neighboring Anjuna are the first beaches of Goa, open hippies. It was here that this movement began, at that time nothing was known about Arambol. Therefore, it was on Vagator Beach in the 1960s that an Italian sculptor (who, by the way, came here from Italy on foot) carved the famous face of Shiva.

In these photos, it seems that Shiva's face is huge

In fact, it is

Vagator Beach is beautiful: the cliffs that go into the sea can serve as an excellent backdrop for photo shoots. But for children, this beach, as it seemed to us, is not suitable. Swimming in the sea in many places is dangerous because of the sharp rocks, and the sand here is only wet. And there are a lot of cows on Vagator beach, like no other beach. They feel at home here, no one is chasing them (as, for example, on Arambol).

smiling cow

Cows are friends with local crows:

Anjuna beach

It was from Anjuna that the "settlement" of Goa by visiting hippies began (60-70 years of the last century). Then all sorts of people from all over the world rushed to India: some for spiritual enlightenment, some for a protracted life, some to study the oldest culture in the world. And these people met, communicated with each other. And once it happened that all these people agreed to celebrate Christmas together in Goa, namely in Anjuna. And they liked it so much that many decided to stay here for a month, a season, or for life (like the sculptor Anthony Karoli, who carved the face of Shiva in the rock).

Now the bulk of the “party people” have migrated to Arambol, but Anjuna is still very popular with creative “out of this world” people.

another cow...

There is a famous Flea Market in Anjuna: it also originates in the distant 70s, the times of hippies. At that time, many free-loving people visiting, having spent everything cleanly, did not have money for a return ticket. And in order to collect this money, they began to sell everything that could be sold: their valuables, clothes, or hand-made things that they made themselves. This market still exists, although it has become a regular day market, where tourists can buy souvenirs, clothes, tea, spices, etc. from local residents. Today, Flea Market is the largest market in all of Goa.

Baga beach

Baga Beach is famous for its unusual brown sand. The beach owes its name to the river of the same name, which flows here and flows into the Arabian Sea (it is also the Indian Ocean). Locals, who are afraid of the open ocean, and kids love to swim in this river.

Baga is a noisy, party place: it has everything for tourists: bars, shops, markets, massage parlors and a vibrant nightlife with trendy DJs and discos.

The beach is very crowded: there are many tourists and merchants. Often beach parties take place right on the sand. On this beach there is a very famous among all tourists and local club Titos. It is not suitable for families with children.

Calangute beach

The town of Calangute is known for its shops, restaurants and nightclubs. Unfortunately, only here you can find real branded stores, and not local shops with clothes of dubious quality.

Calangute is more popular with the Indians themselves than with tourists. The city and the beach are beautiful. But the dirt that numerous Indians leave behind and the manure that is not cleaned up after the cows on the local beach scare away our and European tourists. Although, “package” tourists are often brought here.

Candolim beach

Candolim is a continuation of Calangute. The boundaries of the beaches are quite difficult to determine. But unlike neighboring Calangute, Candolim is a very quiet and peaceful resort. Mostly those who are looking for romance, peace, as well as families with children come here. Candolim is very different from all the other beaches of North Goa: there are no parties and no hippies. According to reviews, Candolim is more like a beach in South than North Goa.

The beach itself has a rather steep descent to the sea. The sand here is clean and soft. Despite its calmness and tranquility, the infrastructure on Candolim is good: cafes, shops. A bus runs every 20 minutes. Prices on Candolim are higher than on many other beaches of North Goa: as a rule, respectable and package tourists rest here.

North Goa is the northern part of the Indian state, washed by the gentle waters of the Arabian Sea. This is the birthplace of trance music, a place of attraction for hippies of all times and peoples, a territory of free morals and self-discovery. People come here for inexpensive beach holidays, for the experience of meditation and relaxation, and for amazing open-air parties.

Beaches

The beaches in North Goa are covered with greyish volcanic sand. Often on a strip of sand you can see large boulders, they are also found at the entrance to the water. The width of the beaches ranges from narrow strips to tens of meters. Sometimes a small fresh river flows near the beach, forming lagoons where children love to splash.

Attractions

The two most famous sights of North Goa are on the beach, which has been standing here since the time of Portuguese rule, and the face of the god Shiva carved on the stone on the beach. It is these two locations that are most often photographed by those who come to rest in.

You can go on an excursion to or on, in with its colonial architecture and beautiful churches and basilicas.

In (a town 1.5 km away from the sea) a night market regularly takes place, where they sell everything they can - from jewelry to elephants. Be sure to bargain with vendors who assume all white people are rich by default. The market is open from 18:00.

Transport

It is very inconvenient to walk on foot - there are almost no sidewalks and footpaths anywhere. It is more convenient to rent a scooter or motorcycle. It is worth considering that traffic in India is quite chaotic and it is worth being careful on the road both as a driver and a pedestrian. You can travel between resorts by bus or taxi.

is a mysterious and contradictory country with exotic nature, an incredible variety of cultures, and the extraordinary architecture of Buddhist temples and monasteries. India always attracts a huge number of travelers who come here to enjoy both the warm gentle sun, the sound of the surf, silky sand, and visit iconic sights. In terms of tourism, North Goa is considered the most developed area. The beaches of North Goa are its main advantage. They stretch along the sea coast in a continuous 30-kilometer strip. At the same time, the beaches differ from each other: some are suitable for fun, others, on the contrary, for tranquility and romance. Hotels in North Goa provide budget accommodation options, as young people who love incendiary parties until the morning come here to relax.

General information about North Goa.

Mandrem

Mandrem, bordering on Arambol, differs significantly from it in its calmness and solitude. Usually couples with children like to come here on vacation, as the descent into the water is gentle here, and the beach itself is clean and not crowded. Also along the coast there are small natural pools in which there is warm water, where small children love to splash around.

Ashvem

The beach is also quite quiet and calm, has its own special charm and appeal. It is located south of Arambol. The entire coast is a long, bordered by picturesque palm groves, a strip of darkish silver-colored sand. It is also a great place for families with children.

Calangute

A wide sandy strip in the shape of a crescent stretches along the Arabian Sea Calangute. Its length is almost 7 km. The beach line runs from Sinquerim and smoothly flows into Baga. Even local residents sometimes cannot say exactly where Calangute begins and where Baga ends.

Calangute can rightfully be recognized as the main center of tourism for the entire North Goa. The infrastructure is well developed here. Calangute is not just a beach, but a whole city on the coast: restaurants, cafes, bars, discos, clubs, hotels. This is a place for lovers of outdoor activities and fun parties.

Calangute is known as the "king of all beaches": there is the largest influx of tourists. This situation is due to a number of reasons: an excellent developed infrastructure, the ability to offer guests a variety of recreation, an advantageous location - proximity to other beaches. Reviews about Calangute are only the most positive! Landscapes in the vicinity of Calangute are also distinguished by their color and originality.

An attraction of Calangute Beach is the Kerkar Gallery, which presents works by famous Indian artists. This place is especially interesting for those who are fond of Indian culture. It should be noted that once a week the gallery organizes evenings of Indian songs and dances.

Baga

The famous neighbor of Calangute Beach, located on a wooded cape, is famous for its unusual brown sand and huge black boulders. It got its name in honor of the river of the same name, which flows next to it. In fact, Baga is very similar to the Turkish resort of Antalya. On the beach there are many restaurants and cafes, famous for their excellent cuisine.

North Goa hotels.

Hotels in North Goa are mostly inexpensive. Most of them have only 3 or 4 stars. There are many options for budget holidays.

The best hotels in North Goa: Lemon Tree, Taj Holiday Village, Goan Heritage and Fort Aguada, located on the first coastline.

Lemon Tree Hotel

Goan Heritage Hotel

Choosing the right hotel should be based on the following points: rating, photos, description, location, reviews of previous guests.

If you are going to Goa for the sea and beaches, do not miss this article. I will tell you about all the beaches of North Goa, share their characteristics, location on the map, personal photos and videos and my opinion about each beach, if you are interested. The opinion is subjective. Goa is different for everyone.

12 beaches of North Goa - review, photo, video

Kerim Beach - the northernmost beach

There are no palm trees on Kerim Beach. Coniferous trees grow there, which create an unusual mystical landscape on the beach. Plus sparsely populated, light sand and green deep sea. Kerim Beach is mesmerizing. Only a complete introvert and a desperate lover of solitude and peace can stay there for a long time.

There are a couple of cafes on Kerim Beach, it is easy to find guest houses nearby. For shopping and entertainment, it is better to go to neighboring Arambol.

The sea on Kerim is beautiful, but dangerous. Waves often, depth starts immediately. Not the best place to stay with small children.

Kalacha Beach - Beach of the Beatles and Sweet Lake

Kalacha Beach is famous for its Sweet Lake, unusual landscape, large stones in the sea and a banyan tree under which the Beatles smoked and meditated. There are serious doubts about the latter fact. But the rest is all right. And the landscape, and the lake, and beauty.

On the beach there is a cafe, several bungalows and a small market.

The sea is different - when there are big waves, and when - quiet and smooth.

Arambol - a beach of yogis, enlightened and found themselves

The most controversial beach in North Goa is Arambol. The first time I came to Goa, I fell in love with Arambol. The last time he disappointed me.

As for the beach and the sea itself, Arambol is unusually beautiful. A long and wide sandy beach, a long entry into the sea, the blue color of the water merging with the sky - it takes your breath away.

The village of Arambol has many shops, guest houses, hotels, cafes and restaurants. Prices for everything are higher than the average for North Goa.

Arambol is good for families with children - the sea is so beautiful, there is infrastructure, parties of mothers with babies and even sour cream in stores.

Arambol is good for those who like to go into the astral plane with the help of special means. It's easy to find a hangout and everything else.

Arambol is good for creative people, for yogis, for those who are looking for themselves.

Mandrem - the beach of glamorous scum

Mandrem goes after Arambol. The same sea and the same beach line. Real hotels and show-off restaurants have been built in Mandrem. You can even meet people in white pants and hats there.

Prices in Mandrem are not lower than in Arambol. Many Russians. Few European pensioners. Quiet, calm, imposing.

Ashvem - the most beautiful beach in North Goa

It is impossible to describe in words why Ashvem is better than neighboring beaches. But it is definitely different from the rest of the North Goa beaches. Either the air there is different, or the wind, or the current brings mysticism and the desire to fly. There are few shacks and bungalows on the beach itself. And this is probably why the slightly deserted beach of Ashvem is fascinating.

My favorite place in North Goa by far.

Morjim - the most pontoon and expensive beach

The Russian village and all that. There, the cult director Pyotr Buslov came up with the idea to make the film “Motherland” about Russians in Goa. Buslov lived in Goa, in Morjim for several seasons, so he studied the theme of the film perfectly.

The sea in Morjim is like in Arambol. A lot of party places, a lot of guest houses and a lot of Russians.

Vagator - the beach of Shiva and sacred cows

The second beach in my personal top of North Goa beaches. Moreover, Vagator and Ashvem are almost on the same level. Although externally the beaches are different.

Black stones scattered in disorder along the beach create a fantastic landscape. Cows love this place too. And on Vagator, be sure to find the famous face of Shiva.

Anjuna - the beach of the last hippies

Anjuna is a favorite place for party-goers, young and old. The famous market days take place here, when the Flea Market is open on Wednesdays. Here, by the sea, songs ring from coastal cafes, here they break away and forget all the sorrows and hardships of the cold homeland.

I don't like the sea in Anjuna - a lot of stones, some kind of algae. But you can find a place to swim if you wish.

Baga is the most civilized beach in North Goa

Baga is a village for glamorous vacationers, lovers of nightclubs and expensive cafes. Prices are the highest in all of North Goa.

The beach is different from the beaches of Arambol or Mandrem. The sand here is yellow, the sea is deep. In Baga, on one side of the beach, there is a cape and a river along the cape. Thanks to this cape, there are almost no big waves in Baga. Swimming is comfortable and fun, even when there are huge waves in neighboring Calangute and Candolim.

Calangute is the most visited beach in North Goa

Calangute never sleeps! It's fun, partyy and relaxed at the same time. This is the favorite beach of European pensioners. There are enough of our bags here too. Among independent tourists, Calangute is not particularly honored.

Calangute has the most shops, supermarkets, cafes, expensive hotels and cheap guest houses.

The sea is deep almost immediately, the sand on the beach is yellow and loose.

Candolim - the most convenient beach

Candolim is similar to Calangute. The same beach line, the same sea, the same guest houses, the same pensioners. There are no problems in choosing accommodation, with renting a bike, with local street food, with pizza or a burger, with Tibetan cuisine, with pharmacies. Internet in Candolim and Calangute is the best among all places in North Goa.

Sinkerim - a beach with history

Flights to Goa

And if you have not yet decided on tickets to Goa, look at the table for the cheapest fares for regular flights to Goa.

The smallest of the Indian states is famous for its curious corners and unique sights. It can be compared to a chest full of various treasures that delight tourists. Exotic Goa is the most famous resort in India, hosting hundreds of thousands of travelers from different parts of our planet. Here everyone will find something suitable for themselves, and no one will be disappointed with a wonderful journey to a magical place created to enjoy life.

Two parts of Goa

The pearl of the Indian coast is divided into two parts that differ from each other. Wealthy family tourists rest on vacations, and Severny is adored by young people for affordable prices in hotels and a huge amount of entertainment. Life is seething here even at night: cheerful discos and parties will not let anyone get bored.

It would not be an exaggeration to say that the dream of every traveler is to see the best that North Goa can boast of - the sights! Reviews of tourists who visited the magical corner are full of delight, and this is quite natural.

The popular resort is located on the west coast of India. From the east, it is surrounded by mountains, most of which are covered with evergreen forests. In the northern part of Goa, there are about 800 thousand people who speak a variety of languages.

Climate and weather

North Goa, whose sights are of great interest to tourists, surprises with fine weather even in winter, because a tropical climate reigns here. Summer lasts from March to May, and all three months the temperature can reach more than 30 ° C. From June to September, the monsoon season reigns, when there is a lot of rainfall. This weather is not suitable for a beach holiday. After the rainy season, warm autumn sets in, and winter lasts from November to February, and even at night the temperature does not drop below 20 ° C. This is the highest tourist season, and it is no coincidence that prices for all services and goods of the picturesque resort rise significantly.

Waterfall Dudhsagar

What attracts tourists to North Goa? The sights created by nature itself and man are very diverse, and their inspection will make the rest as rich as possible.

One of the most popular excursions is a trip to the Dudhsagar waterfall located among the virgin nature (Dudhsagar), which is located near the capital of the state of Panaji. The miraculous miracle falling from a height of 310 meters and the surrounding landscapes are amazing. The sight of a real water extravaganza with many small splashes sparkling in the rays of sunlight is breathtaking. Powerful streams of boiling white color fall from rocks cut by time into a cold lake, in which tourists swim, noting that this is one of the largest on our planet.

Bhagwan Mahavir Reserve

The natural attractions of North Goa can be called the main reasons for exploring it, and the unique Bhagwan Mahavir Reserve is a confirmation of this. It is on its territory that there is a magnificent waterfall that evokes a feeling of admiration. Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary is 240 square kilometers of nature untouched by civilization. To see all the riches of the reserve, you will have to take a jeep in the forestry of the park.

Especially popular is a small gorge with a depth of 50 meters. The most beautiful corner, formed under the influence of the flow of the Khandepar River, attracts the eye with stone banks and a small but powerful Arvalam waterfall, the noise of which is heard for several kilometers.

There is also an ancient temple of Sri Mahadev. Made of basalt, it attracts the eyes of amazed visitors admiring the carved bas-relief. Due to its remote location, Shri Mahadev Temple has been preserved in excellent condition. Inside the temple is decorated with images of elephants and flowers. This is the only example of stone architecture of the Kadamba-Yadava dynasty, which India is rightfully proud of.

North Goa (the sights confirm this) is a unique corner full of vivid impressions and possessing a magical aura.

Old Goa

Once Goa was a Portuguese colony, which could not but affect its architectural appearance. Old Goa, which was called the "pearl of India", is located a few kilometers from Panaji. The city captured by the Portuguese was very similar to Lisbon, and in its size it resembled the major cities of Europe. In the 17th century, an epidemic of cholera began, which claimed the lives of more than 150 thousand people, and the conquerors were forced to leave their administrative center. The abandoned city was mostly inhabited by priests and nuns, and now the number of local residents does not exceed five thousand people.

Here are the main religious attractions of North Goa. Excursions to Old Goa will allow you to see how the colonizers lived and what impact they had on the culture of India.

What to see in the religious center?

The Catholic Basilica of Jesus the Merciful, made of dark laterite, is a marvelous example of the baroque style in India. Inside the Basilica of Bom Jesus, under a glass dome, lie the relics of St. Francis Xavier, who is considered the patron saint of Goa. They are exhibited only on major religious holidays.

The CE Cathedral is the largest church not only in India, but throughout Asia. The religious building is recognized as the most revered religious monument. The majestic cathedral dedicated to St. Catherine appeared in the 16th century. Se Cathedral is famous for its chapel, which houses an ever-growing cross that fulfills the wishes of parishioners and tourists who come to North Goa.

Sights made the appearance of Old Goa unique in the eyes of vacationers, and an example of this is the domed church of St. Caetana - a real copy of St. Paul's Cathedral, which is located in Rome. The Catholic church is really impressive: a combination of baroque and rococo, basalt gates, carved altars, a pediment with niches where statues of saints are installed, made the religious monument one of the most popular tourist destinations. A majestic view of the interior of the Church of St Cajetan is given by the main dome, through the windows of which bright light penetrates inside.

Gothic temple ruins

The ruins of the temple of St. Augustine are of genuine interest to tourists and archaeologists who find important artifacts. Once there was a Gothic Church Of Saint Augustine, but after the ban of the Augustinian order, it was destroyed by the Portuguese. All that is now left of its former grandeur is the ruins of a bell tower about 40 meters high and several walls. The atmospheric UNESCO-protected site is adored by foreign travelers, who admit that the remains of a religious monument make the imagination work.

Some temples operate to this day, others have turned into state museums, which North Goa is famous for. You can visit the sights on your own, but it is better to take a guide who will tell you in detail about the history of religious monuments. Many tourists speak with great enthusiasm about the bewitching special atmosphere of Old Goa.

Sights and neighborhoods in North Goa

As the locals say, there is one corner within North Goa that is definitely worth a visit. In the state of Karnataka, there is a world-famous settlement, which is an architectural complex consisting of monuments from the era of the great Vijayanagar Empire. Hampi has been under the protection of UNESCO since 1987. Here, every stone speaks the language of beauty. The Holy Land makes an indelible impression on all those who are interested in history and appreciate the unique architectural masterpieces.

The most majestic temple of Vittala (Vittala temple), which has existed since the 16th century, was not completed, but this did not make it less beautiful. It is curious that when tapped, his mini-columns emit amazing melodies. The decoration of the building, which is dedicated to Vishnu, amazes with its unique beauty. .

The wall bas-reliefs of the Hazara Rama temple tell about the events of the Ramayana. Pictures of that time come to life on them: proud riders march on elephants, dancers bend in passionate merrily prance, and soldiers prepare for new battles. Thousands of images adorn the walls of a Hindu building

The unusual temple of Virupaksha, which has grown from a small building into a whole complex, is the hallmark of Hampi. Virupaksha temple is an important religious center. Twice a year, great festivals are held in it, glorifying Shiva, and pilgrims from all over India travel great distances to participate in them.

According to tourists, even a few days are not enough to get acquainted with all the monuments of Hampi, so it is best to come here for a week, and then you can fully enjoy the fantastically beautiful landscape and man-made wonders of the ghost town.

Fort Aguada

North Goa, whose attractions are not limited to natural and religious monuments, has an eventful history. Not far from Candolim is the ancient fort of Aguada, built by the Portuguese. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to see it inside, but you can admire it from the outside for free. The well-preserved Aguada fort, whose walls break right into the sea, is recognized as a historical treasure. Now its underground part is used as a prison for foreign tourists who sold drugs.

redi fort

Another fortification is located on the border of the two states of Maharashtra and Goa. Redi fort, the exact date of construction of which no one knows, is completely overgrown with jungle. It seems to tourists that Redi fort, permeated through with green plants, is a single organism with them. Creepers, creeping along the historical monument, are intertwined in the most bizarre patterns.

The walls destroyed in the battles are overgrown with bright tropical flowers, and the dug moat next to the fort is no longer visible because of the tall grass. Guests of the magical place express the opinion that this is one of the most peaceful corners of the part of the state called North Goa. Sights, photos of which make you want to get there as soon as possible, are a great way to get to know the ancient heritage of the main resort of India.

Popular resort

The resort, whose beaches are literally occupied by tourists, is gaining more and more popularity every year. People with different incomes come to have a great rest and see with their own eyes the man-made and natural monuments that made North Goa famous all over the world. Attractions (and reviews of the fabulous corner only confirm their significance) allow you to touch the ancient history of the state and feel the greatness of mother nature.
